FIE
Building Strong Thinkers
Our Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) therapy is a research-based cognitive intervention designed to help students develop the essential thinking skills needed for learning and life. Developed by Reuven Feuerstein, this approach is built on the belief that intelligence is not fixed—every child can grow and strengthen their ability to think, learn, and succeed.
What Makes This Approach Different?
Rather than focusing only on academic content, FIE focuses on how a student learns. Through guided, one-on-one mediation, we identify areas of difficulty and systematically strengthen the cognitive processes needed for success. This process—called Mediated Learning Experience—helps students become more aware of how they think and how to approach challenges. Students engage in structured, problem-solving tasks designed to build skills such as attention, organization, comparison, planning, and flexible thinking. These skills transfer directly into the classroom and everyday life.
How FIE Helps Students
Through consistent intervention, students often experience:
-
Stronger attention and focus
-
Improved problem-solving and critical thinking
-
Increased confidence and independence
-
Better organization and planning skills
-
A growth mindset and willingness to tackle challenges
Who Is This For?
FIE is effective for students of all abilities, including those who:
-
Struggle with attention, processing, or executive functioning
-
Have learning differences or gaps
-
Need support with confidence, motivation, or independence
-
Want to strengthen higher-level thinking skills
